Massachusetts

Spent a few days at our friends, Cristina and Steve's place in Concord, Mass.  Steve was at their home in Montana, so we didn't get a chance to visit with him.  But we kept Cristina very busy seeing the sights and tasting our way across this part of Massachusetts.

So, this was LONG story.

dropping sisters off at airport

Friday afternoon traffic...

over an hour later...
returning car...

An SUV!

 We did pick up Sue.  We did make it to Cristina's.  And we did finally get a car.  And we did have a GREAT time!  For several days we wandered around Concord, Walden Pond, and walked the Freedom Trail in Boston.  We ate tremendous food at Cristina's (she outdid herself) and at several places around town.  And, before we left town, we gave her home a fresh coat of paint (see last photos) and added a couple matching cars to her driveway.  Here are a few pics from our visit!

Dinner at the Colonial Inn, Concord

The original structure where the Colonial Inn sits today was completed in 1716.  It has quite the history!

Had great fun (and a great meal) with the help of Sheila and Bill!

Walden Pond!

Spent some time walking around Walden Pond, which is most famous as the place where Henry David Thoreau wrote about living more simply and connected to the environment.  The cabin was built on land owned by Ralph Waldo Emerson.

Concord, Mass - Minuteman National Historical Park

Standing under a huge maple tree near the place where the the first shot of the Revolutionary War was "heard 'round the world".

And, before we left Concord, we had to do a little remodeling for Cristina and Steve.  Including matching Porsche SUVs!  We know that Steve is going to love this next time he comes to town!
